And is it surprising that I was completely underwhelmed?
I'm not sure what was happening last night. Maybe it was the major headache that I had (and still have, unfortunately). Or maybe it was song choice, or costume choice. Or the fact that it was TWO HOURS last night. I'm not sure. But I was not impressed by anything more than Shirley Ballas shaking her body for America. Now that's patriotic. For America and for England. Represent!
I will still be choosing my three favorite dances from last night, but it will be hard because they weren't the best dances I've seen. Was anyone else just not thrilled by last night?
And since I wasn't particularly enamored by last night, I won't be saying much about the dances.
Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas - Paso Doble to "Ghosts n Stuff" by DeadMau5
This was the only dance that I genuinely liked. I'm not sure why every time Mark choreographs, it's seen as "confusing". I saw Paso in this dance. I don't know why people didn't like it. Chelsea did a great job.
Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff - Quickstep to "Pencil Full of Lead" by Paolo Nutini
What a way to redeem himself. This was fantastic. They set up the story perfectly, and who can't love that ending!
Hines Ward and Kym Johnson - Tango to ... no one knows the title!
This was great. It felt a bit staggered... like I felt like my head was bobbing up and down with each dance step. But he had charisma and the dancing was spot-on. I'm glad he finally got a 10 this week, and not from the guest judge either!
Romeo had the worst dance of all time this week. It was the WORST dance out of all 6 contenders. The setting, outfits, and lack of PARTY in the Samba he did was just depressing. And to think he did so well the past couple weeks. I was a little sad.
Nothing to say for Kendra or Kirstie. Both of them should probably go home. I'm still rooting for Chelsea to win, but I'm scared that won't happen since no one seems to like Mark.
